How I Practice Honoring My Energy, Even When I Have A Lot of Work to Get Done 👇
Mondays are always the busiest days for many of us, filled with ideas and enthusiasm to tackle everything that comes our way. As much as we want to get things done, we often forget to listen to our body and mind, which can result in burnout and exhaustion.
In this blog post, we’ll discuss the importance of honoring your energy and how taking time to rest can actually help you be more productive in the long run.
I usually go hard on Mondays, usually working and creating most of the day. Tuesdays are reserved for podcast recording, which requires a lot of brainpower. However, after recording, I found myself struggling to work on other projects due to feeling tired.
I recognized my energy was spent. Here are some signs that my energy levels were too low to continue to working:
Despite wanting to continue working, I decided to listen to my body and mind and took the rest of the day off after 1pm. I went for a walk with my dog, meditated, took a nap, did yoga, painted, jammed to music, and journaled. By taking the time to recharge in ways that nurtured me, I woke up the next day feeling rested and energized, just like a Monday morning.
It can be hard to rest, especially when there’s so much to do. Deciding to rest might make you feel guilty, behind, or overwhelmed. However, taking time away and recharging is always more important than hustling and grinding towards your next goal.
Resting doesn’t necessarily mean doing nothing; it can involve activities that bring joy and relaxation, like painting, listening to music, or spending time in nature. When we take the time to rest and recharge, we’re allowing ourselves to be more productive and creative in the long run.
If you’re someone who understands the importance of rest but struggles to make time for it, consider joining the Living Adventures Collective. It’s a 6 month community experiences that encourages rest and self-care while also providing resources and support to achieve your goals in life and business.
In conclusion, taking the time to honor your energy and rest is crucial for your mental and physical health, as well as your productivity. Don’t let the fear of falling behind or guilt hold you back from taking a break. Instead, listen to your body and mind, and give yourself the gift of rest.

You valuing my stories and thoughts is enough. Enough for me to keep writing as long as the universe keeps providing me with the resources to do so. If you’ve valued my writing and my stories enough to donate, that’s just mother effing icing on the cake! Want to show your appreciation?
